The New Chillpoint is a San Andreas: Multiplayer server. It runs a gamemode called "Chillpoint Special" coded by FrankZZ and LordDufito, originally founded by Hans. The gamemode is roleplay and job-based, with various classes who have various different jobs.

The server is located at 78.111.71.130:1001

Spring 2008

The end of Chillpoint was near, when xxx disappeared in May 2008 and pulled the plug. There was no server to play on. LordDufito and FrankZZ took it upon them to start scripting the new Chillpoint from scratch.

Conception

SA:MP, the original foundation of the Chillpoint Role-Play server, was released in May 2006. According to Hans, the creator of Chillpoint, "Quickly I realized I wanted my own server." Hans downloaded the moneygrub+landgrab script from the SA:MP forums and Chillpoint was created. Within several weeks Hans suddenly had a very popular server, but still was running the same basic script. xxx began playing on the server and eventually he and Hans started talking about scripting on MSN. xxx made it clear that he was a good scripter and agreed to write an original script for Chillpoint. This covered the ground work for what later became a role play server. Based on this old Chillpoint role play server script, the new team of scripters made an effort to start rebuilding Chillpoint. An announcement, letting all members know about the plans, was made on Chillpoint's forum.

Beta Versions of the New Script

The beta versions of the new Chillpoint script were tested on the Chillpoint Special development server (hosted by Sebihunter). Since there was nothing to start with, the entire game-mode needed to be scripted. Various members who applied to be on the beta test team were given the password and server IP, to help out the scripters, with whatever needed to be tested. The progress made was listed in a public Things-to-do-list.
