Racing
From Chillpoint Wiki
Racing is a very large part of the Chillpoint server and was one of the first custom things implemented into the script. Racing in the server has evolved from a preset list of races to now having races being made by every registered user. All race related functions are incorporated into the /race command. Just typing /race brings up a list of the various functions within that command.
All races have an entry fee that is set by the race creator. Each fee is pooled into the final pot and will be awarded to the winner of the race.

Basic Race Commands
- join <race_name|id> - Used to join a specific race. The name of the race is case sensitive. An id is given when you are invited to a race.
- part - Used to leave a race at anytime. You will be teleported back to where you joined the race from.
- ready - Used when you are in the starting point, this signifies you are ready to begin and freezes you in position.
- info [race_name] - When in a race just using /race info will give you information about the race, such as the name, creator, entry fee, type, number of laps, hp refill, and the split time. If you are not in a race or want to find out info about another race you must specify the race name. It is case sensitive.
- invite [nick|id] - Once you have joined a race, you can use this command to invite other players
- list - Shows a list of the 20 most popular races at the time.
- scores [race_name] - If you are in a race just doing /race scores will show the current scores for that race, if you are not in a race or want scores of another race you must specify a race name (case sensitive). Scores are reset if a race changes.
- ownlist Used to display the races you have created.

Race Creation
Every user who is registered can create and save races. Once saved anyone on the server can run the races that users create. Every user is limit to 3 races in the database to prevent abuse.[edit]
Race Types
- A to B is the most common. In this race type one or more players are racing through a series of checkpoints. The racer who gets to the final checkpoint first wins the race and collects the race pot.
- Last Man Standing unlike "A to B", isn't timed. The race creator can pretty much make up their own rules. The last man standing is,.. Guess what? The winner! This race type enables the '/race set hp' feature.
- Endurance is pretty much the same as "A to B" but it supports multiple laps.

Checkpoint Types
- Arrow
- Corona
- Bouncing Corona

Race Creation Commands
- load [race name] - Loads a race for editing. You may only load races you have created.
- create <race_name> <racetype> - Creates a race. Race name may not be numeric and the name is case sensitive.
- test - Tests the race you are currently editing. Only you can join the race, money transfers and scores do not take place. Doing the command again aborts the test.
- del - Deletes a race, be careful as there is no way to undo this.
- save - Saves the race you are creating
- cp <number|set|move|del|insert|type|size|deftype|defsize> [number] [number] - "cp" is short for checkpoint and this command is used for setting and editing the checkpoints in your race. This may read as difficult or confusing, but once you begin mapping a race it becomes increasingly easier. Some of these commands will work while you are in a checkpoint so a number does not need to be specified. The checkpoint types are: 1) Arrow, 2) Corona, 3) Bouncing Corona
- /race cp set - map next checkpoint
- /race cp <number> <999> - show specified checkpoint, if 999 is used it displays the last checkpoint
- /race cp insert <number> - insert checkpoint
- /race cp move [number] - move checkpoint
- /race cp del [number] - delete checkpoint
- /race cp type [number] <1-3> - set checkpoint type
- /race cp size [number] <1-20> - set checkpoint size
- /race cp deftype <1-3>] - sets default checkpoint type
- /race cp defsize <1-20>] - sets default checkpoint size
- spawn <number> [show] - Each race must have at least two spawn points. The first is set automatically when you create a race. Additional spawns can be set with this command. When a racer joins a race a spawn will be randomly chosen from the saved points. /race spawn <number> show shows the specified spawn point.
- set <split|fee|laps|hp> number - This sets certain parts of a race. Split is amount of time a racer has to get from one checkpoint to the next without getting disqualified, the default is 30 seconds. Fee is the amount a racer pays to join a race, the default is $5000. Laps is the number of laps a race has. This feature is only for Endurance and Last Man Standing races, but really only necessary for Endurance races, is defaulted to 3 in Endurance and 999 in Last Man Standing. HP is the amount of health points restored to a car when they pass through a checkpoint during a Last Man Standing race.

General Race Rules
There is no strict rules while racing, but these are suggestions to make racing more enjoyable for all
- When lining up to race try and keep things organized. Some tracks/race starting points are slim so you will need to line up in pairs behind the starting line.
- Use /race ready when lined up to race.
- Avoid bumping into other racers, unless it is part of the race such as a last man standing race.
- If your vehicle is going to explode with other racers near you try and take your vehicle off the race track so others don't explode with you.
