CHILLPOINT NEWS DIGEST
April Fool's Day The admins of Chillpoint managed to pull off a big and well planned April Fool's Day joke. It basically started with two admins (BrainToad & Slayer_NL) arguing over a ban-reason that contained explicit language, resulting in BrainToad banning Slayer_NL, and that's when the big adminfight started with insults, bans, kicks.
It all ended up with BrainToad being banned and with help from REALfreaky, they "hacked" the server and messed up the weather and gravity. congested then took charge of the server and self-proclaimed himself as a dictator of Chillpoint.

EVENTS
- StageOne, an event hosted by MrColon has been delayed until further notice. It will most likely be hosted on 12:th April.
- Marco Bistro's Gang Meeting was recently held, it involved all leaders of all gangs discussing the future of the gang's relationships, the main topics discussed were:
- Wars
- Turfs
- Drug Supply
- Security/Hiring
- Discussing the Member Retaining Treaty
- Discussing the San Fierro Alliance

GANG NEWS
Vince recently created a new gang called The Pink Panthers. No information except for "Just a little something me and my CoD4 buddies put together.." has been released. We welcome this new gang and wishes the best luck.
Another new gang is Los Carnales. The gang has a history that actually happend in-game, which makes it interesting. We welcome this new gang and wishes the best luck.
Thug Raza has made a come back, but this time they go under the name: La Raza!
Big news for The Syndicate and The Sindacco Family is that The Sindacco Family merged with The Syndicate.

CHILLPOINT NEWS DIGEST
RULE UPDATE In addition to week's changes to the harassment and insult rules, there is another rule update this week.
It is not longer allowed to enter a turf war to rape, rob, or otherwise get in the way of fighting. Cops/military/hitmen are still allowed to come in to take care of their jobs, but all other classes should stay clear from an obvious war zone.
If you wish to watch a war, do so from a place well out of the way of the fighters. Use common sense when trying to determine if there is a war going on, or you can always ask. Failure to follow this rule will be met with punishment.
Remember to always check the server rules page on the wiki for the most up to date rules.
Boxing Championship is starting back up, signs are now and the first match will be on 8th of March.
The Sindacco Family is holding a Team Deathmatch event on 1st of March.
OTHER NEWS
Chillpoint Real Estate Company is your number 1 place for buying or selling a home.
A gang meeting at Marco's Bistro is in the planning stages. This meeting will be at Marco's Bistro in Liberty City and will be for major gangs to discuss various topics.
Chillpoint Screenshot Competition 2 just started, the winning screenshot will be featured in next news digest.

Server Issues Fixed again (posted by dugi on Mon 25 Feb, 2008) The Bug appears to be fixed, server restarted a while ago and Punky came back to IRC. Also you are not getting wanted for entering to all vehicles anymore and /vote works when theres no admins on the server. If you will notice any more bugs on server, report them to any admin or just come on IRC and tell people about it.

Been awhile since we've had a digest, but here's a very important one!
CHILLPOINT NEWS DIGEST
RULE CHANGES There have been some minor changes to the server rules. These changes were made in order to make a friendlier environment for the user and to make them easier to understand.
The most important changes are the addition to ramming as a form of deathmatching, it is no longer allowed to ram into someone's car multiple times. Be advised that someone accidentally crashing into you is not considered ramming, nor is the occasionally collisions caused by lag.
Another change is the removal of the general player harassment rule into a more specific insult rule. Following, repeatedly raping/robbing, etc are no longer considered player harassment. However insulting will still be taken seriously and users who insult, tease, curse at, or make offensive comments to other users will be removed from the server. Racism is still not permitted as well as sexist and homophobic remarks. Calling someone words like "faggot" and "queer" will not be tolerated here. This rule will be enforced seriously
Be sure to always check the server rules wiki page for the most up to date rules. Failure to follow these rules is unacceptable.
BUGS
An old bug has returned once again. Punky has timed out of the IRC and has caused a few problems on the server. You will now receive a wanted level for every car you enter. There may also be bugs with the ban system in that those who are banned now may not be unbanned automatically like planned and others may see the "you are banned from the server" message on join.
Hopefully this bug will either resolve itself soon or xxx will come to fix it himself. Your patience is appreciated.
SPAM BOTS
Many of you have noticed spam bots posting in these threads. We are trying to control this, but have run into some difficulties. If you see a post from one of these bots, do not click any of their links. Click the blue "Report post" button as soon as possible and if you are in-game or on IRC, notify the admins about the problem.
NEW FORUM SECTION
A new forum section has been created as a hub for the roleplaying on Chillpoint. For those users who wish to write roleplay stories about themselves, publish comics, or anything Roleplay related should use this forum. It is located here as a sub-forum of Planning & Organization

Update on the Server (posted by congested on Wed 13 Feb, 2008) Update!
This update is a turf update. These are updates to turfs done by BrainToad and myself that hopefully everyone will enjoy!
- Edited Turfs: Los Santos Ocean Docks have updated spawn/cash points.
- Edited Turfs: Las Colinas/East Los Santos/East Beach/Los Flores areas have been updated with new borders, new cash points and new spawn points. Hopefully the new borders will make the areas more fun to fight in.
- New Turf: Rodeo
- New Turf: Green Palms
- New Turf: Verona Beach/Market (Thug Raza HQ)
- New Turf: K.A.C.C. Military Fuels
- New Turf: Willowfield/Ocean Docks Warehouse
- Bigger Payouts: Now every 12 hours you will be able to collect $500,000 from your turf. This should make owning turfs a very profitable reward. ($$$)

Everything appears to be fixed for now. After a server crash last night, things recycled, Punky returned and many of the bugs disappeared. Please report any future errors in the bugs forum and let's hope xxx returns soon.

It is known that the bug with getting wanted for every vehicle has returned and that Punky is missing from the IRC. xxx has been notified and hopefully will be able to fix the issue soon.
In the mean time, this may be a great time to try out that cop and army class :)

I decided to turn the hype level up on the comic some, so check out this trailer I made for it. I also want to say that this turned into a big community effort. Over 40 people helped with the comic.
The release date is narrowed down in the ad so check it out! Congested and the Hole Part 8: The Hole in One is on its way.

Hey all. Just got word from xxx that the server may be getting re-vamped soon, and with it some updates may follow.
Here's some juicy parts of the email I recieved:
Haaaj thaare mate!
- Just wanted to let you know that I'm alive and kicking. (And will be back, in case you're worried :) )
- The plan was to resume work on Chillpoint during new year, with more time on my hands, most of which has now gone to hunting errors and parts, however, that's about to be sorted!
- Chillpoint will be updated after my return as well.
Anyway, enough for now. I'll see you soon! Happy 2k8!

No, SA:MP hasn't been shut down again. This time however kyeman had issues with the owners of the GTAnet irc network and moved the official SA:MP IRC channel to the DAL network. This drama and other drama has lead to some of the development team leaving kyeman for their own projects. As of right now this doesn't seem to affect Chillpoint, except for those of you who use the SA:MP Java IRC client on their website. This link no longer takes you to the same server as the Chillpoint IRC channel.
If you would like to join us on IRC, the best thing I can recommend is getting a proper IRC client such as mIRC and using that to connect. There is a very simple tutorial located here.
If you don't want to download a client, you can try using http://ircatwork.com to connect, but be advised that this website can sometimes get laggy. The server is irc.gtanet.com and the channel is #chillpoint
We hope to see you on the IRC soon and we also wish kyeman the best of luck with SA:MP and the other developers the best of luck with their endeavors.

The server is temporarily down due to efforts by the admin team to fix it themselves. xxx has been notified, hopefully the server will be up soon.
