- Red County Choppers - A new comic started by Bender with the help of altaria1993, DECKARN and G_Star started this week. Keep an eye on this comic, as its sure to be a great one.

Spartan And The Lonely Persian: A Chillpoint Movie (posted by congested)
I came across this video and was amazed I had never seen it before. Many props to DrDrug who put this together earlier this year. Perhaps this will start a trend of featuring movies again in the news.... even if it doesn't this one deserves a nod. Good job DrDrug!

Server Weirdness (posted by congested)
As some may notice the server is having some issues at the moment. Punky is also down in IRC. xxx is the only one who can do anything about this so be patient as he isn't around atm to sort it out. My advice for now: Play as cop! You will have plenty of people to arrest.
UPDATE: xxx restarted the server a while ago, everything should work properly now.

A lot of things are going on with the server currently and I'm posting this to provide an overview of what is going on. I may try to do this every week.
EVENTS
Some of the major Chillpoint events happening this weekend!
- Chillpoint Race Event held by dugi and sponsored by The Syndicate is a choose-your-own-course race from point A to point B with a goal of winning by any means necessary. Event takes place on Saturday November 3rd at 19:00 servertime
- The Chillpoint Marathon held by dugi and sponsored by The Syndicate is a sequel to last week's marathon. This run around Las Venturas will be held Sunday November 4th at 19:00 servertime
- The Pig Pen is owned and operated by MrColonist and The Syndicate and may be open this weekend after the events
OTHER NEWS
- Chillcomix is back in business with the long awaited Part 4 to the massive Congested and the Hole story. The comic is availble on both Photobucket and for the first time, PDF! Look for the final parts of this amazing series in the coming weeks

Banning of those involved in helping ban evaders (posted by BrainToad)
It has come to the attention of the admins that a user who had been banned was ban evading on the server. This by itself is a regular occurance on Chillpoint. But it has also come to our attention that a select group of users knew this person was ban evading and chose not to inform the admins and rather conspire with him to evade his ban, lie to the admins and his goal to cause trouble on the server.
Those involved to the most extent have been banned for 3 months. They are: aNdReSk f0rc3 Barnie
These bans will be for 3 months, no ifs, ands or buts. No appeals will be made. The bans extend to both the site and IRC, any ban evading will result in a permanent ban. They will be unbanned on January 21st, 2008
There was others who knew of this ban evader but didn't report, but they did not actively conspire with him to ban evade. They will be spared from being banned for now. But remember that helping a banned user evade their ban is a serious offense and you will be punished for doing so.
If you suspect a user is a banned user, please report to the admins as soon as you can. You will remain anonymous of your actions if you use private messages on the forums, server, or IRC.

More than one year ago chillpoint admin Dark_Wolf created Chillpoint Boxing Championships im continiuing them by creating another Championships. The final match will be between the current Chillpoint Champion - congested and the person who beats all other boxers. All fights will take place in the LS Gym.
ALL THE SEMI-FINAL MATCHES WILL BE ON NEXT SATURDAY!

The admins are happy to announce that we have come to a final decision on this matter. First of all we want to thank everyone for their input and discussion. The admin team learned a lot from this experience. Allowing users to vote on the rule had great benefits in getting people's opinions about policy.
As we said when the poll started the results of the poll would not dictate the outcome. We are happy, however, to announce that the we are agreeing with many voters on this matter. The rules will remain as they are now so keep on playing like you have been since the turf war update. Thank you all for participating in the vote!
In short:

SERVER UPDATE: New Features, Changes, be advised! (posted by congested)
SERVER UPDATE!
xxx has worked hard on some updates for the server. The following is just some of the stuff he's done to improve the script in this update, however there are many behind-the-scenes features that will improve Chillpoint as well.
- Rewrote entire player structure and all functions using it:
- You can't "login too fast" any longer.
- You can't ditch jail time.
- Easier integration outside of script.
- Less risk of settings being incorrect.
- More settings being saved and restored.
- Performance boost.
- Race Improvements:
- Now less risk of spawning at the same location as previous racer who joined. (If race has more than one spawn points set.)
- Now two spawn points must have been mapped before a race can be saved.
- You can now 'race create' and 'race test' in houses and stadiums. However you can't 'race join' from WITHIN an house or stadium.
- Removed 'Most Wanted':
- Now level 1-9 is wanted (ORANGE), 10+ is state fugitive (RED)
- /wanted [m] switch is removed. New syntax: /wanted [s]
- All related events in script are now synced to state fugitive level. ("use of deadly force", wanted level drop, etc..)
- Cops, Army, Medics are no longer allowed in gangs.
- Drug improvements:
- Improved drug timing, overdose timing.
- Drug usage near a cop now triggers an offense.
- Weapons changes:
- Sawn-off Shotguns now de-synced (they no longer work)
- Spawn weapon changes:
- Decreased number of grenades from 20 to 10
- Decreased number of molotovs from 20 to 8
- Decreased number of sniper riffle bullets from 200 to 100
- Added Cane
- Added Vibrator
- Added Silenced Pistol
- Vehicle changes:
- Increased respawn time of vehicles from 2 minutes to 5 minutes
- Replaced some vehicles near houses
Very Important for in-game reports:
- Added /report <something ...> command and disabled chat prefix '@' for regular users. Reports sent with /report are also sent to all admins on the IRC.
As always these changes need to be reflected in our wiki! It is up to each of you to improve the wiki and keep it accurate based on what is happening. Feel free to edit it... and also feel free to update any pages that may be out-of-date....

Goodness Gracious an UPDATE!! YAY! (posted by congested)
ANOTHER UPDATE!
xxx has been busy! There is a wonderful new update on the server. This is what it comprises of...
- '/gang turf info' command now also shows online member count.
- If turf owners don't defend their turf when attacked, the attackers will now take over control.
- If you team-kill during a turf-war then points will be subtracted from your team's score. (xxx says this "might apply to /kill aso later... we'll see")
- Added some gametext and sound to turf winners/losers.
- Added support for level 6+ admins to edit turfs.
- Drug usage is now prevented during a turfwar.
- New cop command '/uv'. Short for unlock vehicle. For now it only unlocks the vehicle for the cop using. Even if a cop unlocks it and the person gets away, only the cop will be able to reap the benefits of the "/uv"
- Cleaned up and optimized a few bits n pieces
- Some vehicle changes (dugi?)
- Update: Added .gstats command to punky on IRC
- Update: Now running v0.26d. A little oversight by xxx with the register! command was fixed :s

What Turf DMing rules do you prefer? (posted by BrainToad)
You asked for it and you'll get it this once, the admins want your opinion on a rules decision.
This refers to the DMing related rules within the new gang turf rules.
Would you rather
A: No random DMing in turfs, only killing should be done during gang wars or standard killing rules
B: Turf owners may attack anybody who comes into their turf and anyone can attack the turf owners in their turf
C: Don't care
Note: The final decision will be in the hands of the admins, your opinions will be taken into consideration.
Until the poll is over, the current rule is: YOU MAY NOT ATTACK SOMEONE FOR JUST ENTERING YOUR TURF
This poll will run for 5 days, after that the official rule will be put into place.

Chillpoint now has a TeamSpeak server!
A teamspeak server has been provided by FrankZZ, the server has a 100 player capacity, gang channels and channels (Cop radio, Dutch and English)
The TeamSpeak adress is ts.chillpoint.nl:9001, and if you don't know how to join or what is teamspeak, you can use this tutorial made by KableKib

Another Update (posted by dugi)
Chillpoint 0.26b has been realased!. This update mainly contains bugfixes but it also has some improvements to the turf system, or gang restore function.
Here is the list of changes in 0.26b:
- Added gang restore function. If you play as a cop and switch back you should be restored automatically.
- Server now checks if user is in gang, temporarily out of a gang, or in no gang differently.
- Turfwar keep time ("can't attack in X time") is now set if owners successfully defend the turf as well as attack.
- Turfwar minimum defender count changed from 2, 4 to 3 players.
- Turfwar minimum keep time changed from 1 hour to 2 hours.
- Fixed bug where people sometimes couldn't re-connect to the server during a turfwar.

The server has been updated with a brand new script Rules have been updated on Wiki: http://chillpoint.nl/wiki/index.php/Server_Rules Join Chillpoint page has not been updated
Here are a few of the changes
- Removed the huge gang/dm zones of LS, SF and Toreno
- Added new gang turf that can be taken over my scripted gangs. All classes who are in a gang may take over and participate in the gang. A minimum two members from each gang online must be present to own a turf. Owners of the gang turf collect money on their turf. Owners of turf may shoot anyone who comes into their turf, and anyone coming into turf may shoot the turf owners. (see /gang turf help)
- Added some missing code to /resign
- Fixed possible bug in bodyguard code
- Added /race ownlist. (will only show 3 (max) even if you got more), might change
- When an admin removes someone's race, the race count is adjusted on the creator's user record
- Cell phone limit is now 300 messages. (100 messages are sold on each buy until a menu is made for the bar)
- Joining races from house interiors isn't allowed any more.
- Improved rob/rape success rate while moving. (needs more tweaking)
- Fixed bug with weapon buy/sell menu. (displaying sell, then buy, without canceling)
- Fixed bug preventing you to dive with a vortex
- Fixed bug where dive ticket was removed even if the dive wasn't allowed
- More animations, preload
- /find displays if in turf area or not
- /stats now also displays gang name
- Police Ranger vehicle added
- Car jacker and limo driver spawns moved
- Civilian spawn added
- Last but not least, lots of preparation for upcomming updates and lots yet to be enabled on irc/punky side
Plus anything xxx forgot to list.
Note: This script is in beta, especially the gang turf script. Things can and may be changed in future updates. As always, put all suggestions in the server suggestions forum.
The rules will be updated soon to reflect the changes to the classes. Gang classes are still there, but can no longer to DM in every single gang area.
