For you who have missed it, yes, the server was updated late last night :).. check out rules.chillpoint.nl for more info as usual.
The 30-60 minute downtime just now was propably a linked switch getting tampered with (by internet service provider). Server is up now again.
Update: Day two of running now, found another 2-3 bugs. the most serious, cops having trouble arresting caligula robbers. I am heading out now and i'll be gone a few hours but after that i'll be coding and updating the server again. fixing the minors. hf!

Was hoping today would be the day... but, it probably isn't. I still have a few minors to take care of. The script is behaving really good tho. If nothing really weird and unexpected turns up the server will be going down for a brief update some time tomorrow (probably late evening).
Apart from that i ain't got much more to say at this time :P, hoping our new host is ready soon so the script can shine. I bet the poor old machine that hosts it now would like a break.
i'll keep you informed :)
Update 07-12-2006:
Documentation, help and 'minors' have taken longer than expected but i'm still GO for today. I really can't say at what time yet but it looks like new version will be up later :)

I'm a bit late again cause of personal stuff. There's an update collecting dust now for about 3 days. Just have 1 more big thing to add (if i do it in this version) and it's out. There's lots of fixes that need to be tested (like fixed anti-money thingie), before i release it but this usualy doesn't take to long... i'll keep you informed and get the new version up asap. <3

it's not the fastest server in the world but then again samp doesn't require that much either. let's see how it works out :)
unfortunatly the user files are gone again. but this time they will be saved for sure. no childish host is involved now. also i restored some old admin acounts. in case you can't login as admin try with an older password or let me know.
update 18-11-2006 reason for periodic server lag seems to be the router. either someone is having fun at our expense or the settings or firmware ain't that good. amazingly the little old-school box seems to be able to handle the user count needed. i'll go over the logs and settings and all. maybe it's fixable or temporary. we need to switch host once and for all soon!
update 19-11-2006 thinking about rerouting the lan here to gain more control. hoping periodic pings aso will be fixed. if i go ahead with the plan, the server will be down a while, but should be up without more fuss afterwards. asuming all goes as planned that is... i heard there will be a meeting of sorts 7pm server time so i'll prolly do this before that. wish me luck :)
update 19-11-2006 re-routed, server up with new ip! i will be working on the server a while longer so u might hit a speed bump or two but it's up!

The Chillpoint role play server is currently down again. This problem will be addressed as soon as possible, but until then please be patient.
It takes a lot to keep Chillpoint running, so I suggest donating if you want a stable and long lasting solution. Donating is very simple, even if you aren't in the Netherlands. Visit the "PayPal" website of your local country and send a donation to "hans [at] chillpoint [dot] nl". Include a message with your in-game/site user name and you will be added to the "Donators" group as well.
Once there is more information about the status of the server people will be informed.

Great news! Temporary server is up and running!
After two days of hard work sorting this mess out and big thanks to Ron, Ratt and *** and *** it is finaly up!
The new server address is:

Also there is a new bugfixes/help link to check after every update from now on: rules.chillpoint.nl

Chillpoint.nl Server down .. For a while (posted by Hans)
Heya guys,
I'm sorry to say this, but our sponsor unplugged my server. That means, no more chillpoint in the way we played it.
I'm looking for a host which can handle massive bandwidth which chillpoint needs. This will, no doubt about that, cost me alot more then it costs now. If anyone has a suggestion that will allow the server to be sponsored, I'd like it if you replied on this news item with information.
Right now, Chillpoint will be down for a while, maybe I will run the server at my home server to keep Chillpont alive, but I'm discussing that with xxx right now. I'll inform you guys when that happens, including the new IP address.
Ofcourse, donating helps! Even some spare dollars/euros/roepies you got can help to bring the Chillpoint server back.

Ok, the Chillpoint Roleplay server is updated!
New stuff:
- /givekeys [nick|id] -- give your vehicle keys to closes or the nick or id specified, so that you can trade seats without getting wanted.
- /medic -- call ambulance to heal/cure you.
- Medic class now finished! If a medic is in an ambulance, and a player sits next to him, the medic can type /heal to heal everyone in the ambulance. Also, medics gets salary if people uses the hospital.
- Lots of interiors are now named instead of showing 'Indoors'.
- Drug prices now fixed.
- Less public chat spam (You will notice)
- A lot of small bugfixes and improvements.
Known issues:
- Not all interiors are named
- You CAN give the keys of a taxi to (for example) a drug dealer without getting wanted
Ofcourse, this is still a beta version. If you encouter any bugs or glitches, please report them in the Report tool at the website.

Server down! ..Or not? (posted by Hans)
Almost everyone is having connecting problems to the server. Actually, the server itself is still working (I'm in the server right now)
I guess there are some routing problems between different (BIG) backbones. So I thought, this is a perfect moment to update the server with the newest version!
What's new:
- Medic class (not working completely)
- Gang spawns
- Some changes in the vehicle list
- ...and more...
What's different:
- /pm id text... is not working atm cause xxx forgot to enable it again :p you can use
- /m nick|id text... instead. partial nicks work as well.
edit by xxx: the medic/gangs/boxing classes code isn't actually written in this version. just the class spawns and a few more things. don't bug me about it :P Hans couldn't resist putting it up unfinished, again! :P

The website and the server is generating more and more traffic. Today this is not any problem, but it will be in the near future. If you have some money you otherwise would spend it to useless things, please send us some! It doesn't matter if it's 1 dollar or 10 yen, every little bit helps!

Do NOT register on the game server right now.
i've noticed the user database is not being updated. investigating the reason right now. all records since last restart and any you may create now will probably be lost... !¤#&¤(/
update: i'm still expecting to loose allot of records when server is restarted. my attempts to recover it have all failed.
a new version of the script is pretty much (if not) ready to go. included is a possible fix to prevent this from ever happening again, and lots of other things are updated. i will post on forum about updates as usual when it's online.
however, i haven't slept and need to run out. depending on how tired i am when i get back i'll update later or tomorrow. if i'm to tired i'm not touching it. i know all to well what a mess that can turn out to be :)

We are in desperate need of a nice banner for the website. Personally I have not much time and knowledge of creating one, so I decided to put up some kind of contest.
If you have photoshop skills to make a banner, please send your subscription to hans [at] chillpoint [dot] nl.
When I received 10, the contest will start! I will let the website visitors decide with use of a poll.
Please not make the banner larger than 500 x 100, and make it fit into the current color scheme.

Chillpoint SAMP server now has an official TeamSpeak server hosted by KableKiB.
If you don't have TeamSpeak you can download it at http://www.goteamspeak.com
If you have a microphone we recommend you download TeamSpeak and use our server. The more people are in it the more people will come, and stay. I have already been using it a little bit with a couple of the guys in the server and I'll tell you, it really beats typing. Even if you don't have a microphone, feel free to come and listen to everyone and maybe use the text chat in TeamSpeak.
Others have tried to get a TeamSpeak server going here before, but it never went. I want this one to go because I know you guys will realize how much more fun the game mode is when your actually asking someone to come pick them up in a taxi and telling them where you are rather than typing /taxi and have them try and find you.
Once you login anonymously, you can register. Then you can create your own Sub Channels if you don't like the chaos of the lobby. Make a private room for yourself and a friend, or make a class chat channel.
Once your set in the server, unless Voice Activation works flawlessly for you, please set your microphone to Push To Talk or risk being muted or kicked, for obvious reasons.

If you get this message while registering: This is correct. And there is nothing to do about it, we have to wait untill our developer returns. PMming me or whatever has no use, I can't do anything about it.
