April Fool’s Day 2008
In 2007, the first April Fool’s joke was made. To set a tradition, the Adminteam decided to have another laugh for this year.
Making up the prank
- It all started with Congested making a thread to have a brainstorm session in the private admin forum section.
- MrColonist came up with an idea and other admins started to add more to it. The outcome of the brainstorm session was a huge and public adminfight. To make sure people would fall for it, the joke was set to start on March 30, 2008. The server would be nearly full then, since a major gang meeting at Marco’s Bistro was organized on that very same date.
The Start, March 30, 2008
- Minutes after the gang meeting had ended, Passion , ingame as the new player Mindhunter was banned by BrainToad for not following the Server Rules, in other words: banned for being a f*cking noob. The ban reason lead to a huge argument between admins. And the main chat was used to have a admin fight.
- Slayer_NL disagreed with that banreason and stated his opinion about it in main chat. Seconds after that he was banned: f*ck you buddy, get the f*ck out of my sight.
- The argument was taking to the admin chat and Matt_2k34 started to defend Slayer, but he “mistyped”, so his message to BrainToad was also shown in main chat. That message was good enough for another ban: Matt_2k34 was banned: no, you’re the c*nt.
- The banned admins, both made an unban appeal on the forum: Slayer’s unban appeal and Matt_2k34’s unban appeal

The Second Day, March 31, 2008
Admin Crisis
- The admins kept the war going on the forum. Congested made a thread about the admin crisis and the news came out that both BrainToad and MrColonist were banned for their disbehavior.
Ban Evading, Hacking and More Banning
- Later that day, Realfreaky helped BrainToad to evade his ban and they both hacked the server. They changed gravity and messed with the weather. Multiple reports were made by players to let the admins on IRC know what was going on. In the meantime, Bing was kicked by REALfreaky and Sotamuumi was kicked by MrColonist. It was total chaos.
- At that point, Congested joined the server and banned BrainToad and REALfreaky. He let the players know that he would be in charge from that point on, and those who were not with him, were against him. Lienk made it public that he wouldn’t support Congested, saying that Congested couldn’t do what he was doing. Congested banned LienK with the reason: Yes I can, I am dictator here. Then it was Bing who wouldn’t side with Congested. And ofcourse he too was banned for that by Congested with the reason: not supporting me.
The Dictator
- Congested then made a thread on the forum about the state of emergency and labeled himself as the Chillpoint Dictator.
The New Rules
The announcement was hilarious:
As some of you know Chillpoint is under attack by BrainToad and a group of rouge admins. I have declared emergency powers and have labeled myself Dictator of Chillpoint. By bringing the entire server under one law, one language, and the enlightened guidance of one individual, the corruption that plagued us in recent times will never take root.
I am now in control and the emergency acts are as follows:
-Try to refer to me as "sir" when in-game so it is clear that I am an authority figure.
-March 31st on Chillpoint will now be know as "Congested Day" - the day I saved Chillpoint.
-When I am on the server the sky may be darkened so that people know the dictator has arrived and so they show respect.
-Vince will be my personal driver and Batista will be my personal bodyguard.
-Mentioning BrainToad will lead to a warning, and possibly a ban.
-My word is law. Anything I want I get.
We have been tested, but we have emerged stronger. We move forward as one people and we will prevail.
Your leader, congested
Taking sides
- LordDufito, Matt_2k34 and Passion sided with Congested. The other admins, even Bubber and Dugi were against him and were taking sides with BrainToad. The last admin being banned in-game was Sotamuumi. Passion banned him with the reason: you don’t talk like that about con in adminchat, appeal on forum.
Confusion
People were discussing both on IRC and ingame about what was going on. Some people started to think about April Fool’s Day. There was so much confusion going on. Some people talked about leaving Chillpoint, a thread was made on forum about who is in charge of CP.

The end of the joke, April 1, 2008
The April Fool's Day Announcement
To celebrate his dictatorship, Congested went to the server and had a parade.
In the middle of that, just after the beginning of April Fool’s Day, Congested let people know it was all a big prank
That announcement was the start of another discussion: I hope you guys had a great laugh claiming that joke was too much, while others, such as S1lv3r_Wolf, could appreciate the joke and even started their own jokes about leaving Chillpoint and then announcing it to be his joke.
